Dear visitor | |||||||||||||
| Welcome to the website for Inmans Primary School. Inmans School is one of two schools that serve the pupils of Hedon primarily drawing children from the North and West of the town. Hedon is situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire. | ||||||||||||||
| Having been flooded on two occasions, most recently in June 2007 we were given DEFS funding for a new school to be built on our site. The building was completed in April 2011 and we moved in for the start of the Summer Term, May 2011.The new building has many sustainable features such as ground source heating, a sedum roof and modular temperature controls.It has been built to reflect the needs of the 21st Centaury pupils with excellent outdoor provision and state of the art ICT facilities. | ||||||||||||||
| Inmans is a large school in Ofsted terms and particularly when compared with neighbouring schools, having a two form intake. We are a friendly, happy and successful school, set in fair sized grounds on the Inmans Estate in the historic town of Hedon We also take pupils from several villages around Hedon. We cater for children aged 4+ - 11 and currently have 376 children on role. Our Foundation classes provide an important stepping stone between nursery education, many of our pupils start their formal education at Hedon Nursery, and full time school, for children who enter in the September in the academic year in which their fifth birthday falls. | ||||||||||||||
| We strive to make sure everyone at our school feels valued and part of our school community. We work hard to achieve the very best for our children, in co-operation and partnership with parents, Governors, community cohesion, Friends of Inmans School (FIS) and the East Riding of Yorkshire Local Authority. Ofsted regard us as a Good School saying that The vast majority,(of pupils) including the higher attaining pupils, make good progress and achieve well. | ||||||||||||||
| This is confirmed in our Mission Statement. | ||||||||||||||
| At Inmans we aim to provide a safe, secure, happy and challenging environment in which everyone feels enabled to develop and learn together. We will provide the opportunities for each individual to reach their potential through the enjoyment of learning. Each pupil’s achievements will be valued and respected as they develop the skills and confidence needed to take an active role in the wider context of lifelong learning. | ||||||||||||||
| We aim to educate the whole child and enable them to develop the skills of cooperation, collaboration, empathy, resilience, conflict resolution, determination, enterprise and innovation that they will use in their work situations and daily lives in the 21st Century. | ||||||||||||||
